Theo Walsh

Design engineer at Dayform, currently helping small teams turn their ideas into useful tools.

I’ve spent the past eight years moving between design and code. Previously at Greenroom and North Studio.

I care about fast interfaces, clear typography, and the small moments that make a product feel considered.

Based in Edinburgh. Away from the screen, usually on a trail.

Projects

A training notebook that makes consistency feel achievable.

Collect color combinations from the things around you.

A place to remember the paths worth walking twice.

Notes

What makes a tool feel fast?

Speed is partly the time a task takes and partly the confidence you feel along the way. Clear feedback can make a modest interaction feel effortless.

Building the smallest useful version

I start by removing everything that is not necessary to answer one question. The first version becomes easier to make, test, and change.

I shaped the core flow, built the interface, and refined the details through small rounds of feedback. These fictional product studies demonstrate how to present work with context and a clear visual focus.
